where's the loyalty?

Johnny Damon leaves the Red Sox for the Yankees. $52 million for 4 years. Does this seem remotely like some sort of of alliance/loyalty sellout to anyone else? I mean, especially after the epic World Series showdown, I sort of came to associate Mr. Jesus-look-a-like with the heart and spirit of the fabled come-from-behind underdog. And more specifically, with the Sox. No longer, Johnny Damon. You, like the others, are a sellout. You are dead to me. Not really, of course. I'll still watch you.

But he's come to a better team now =) Go Yanks! Maybe next summer you can visit New York again & we'll hit up the Stadium--Mike and I are always looking for an excuse, and Grace would be happy w/ extra company =)

Happy New Year, and hope to talk to you real soon, Jo! And even if '06 is getting off a little bumpy start, there's plenty of time to make it compete w/ 05! Hang in there...

Smiles, Blaise
